What Families Say
FAQ
My aim is for you to have an immersive and memorable experience with your close ones at our session. I've made it very simple in 2 stages. You can read about what to expect as part of your experience here
What is included as part of the experience?
Who can I bring to the session?
You can bring along your immediate family, grandparents and your pet - after all they form the nucleus of your family.
How can I best prepare my kids for the session?
A well rested and fed child is at most times a happy child. Once you are in the studio, I'll take over the reigns and slowly but surely (via my circus performer acts) gain the trust and confidence of your kids. I even have a kiddies couch on which they can jump and have pillow fights on (yup it's true)
When do we get to view our photos?
The edited photos will be ready within a week to 10 days of your portrait session. You will be invited back to my studio to view your images on my 120" screen. I will also guide you through the process of ordering any artwork or digital images packs of your liking.
Upon booking, I send out a professional styling guide that has all the information on getting you and your family looking dapper at our session
What should we wear?
You have the option to have your shoot at my boutique, sun drenched studio in Ashfield or in an outdoor location - whether that be at a beach, park or similar setting.
Where does the photo shoot take place?
What about newborn photos?
Absolutely love the newborn phase! It was the most precious phase with my own 2 kids.
My studio is heated to 25C and sanitised prior to every newborn shoot. My approach is lifestyle based, i.e. I want to capture all the elements during this tender, precious time - the cuddles, the little finger squishes, the feeds and the snuggles.
How long does the photoshoot take?
Children take some time to settle into a new environment so my photo sessions go for up to 90 mins to capture them doing their magic during our session. Newborn session can last up to 2.5 hours to factor in time for feeds, nappy changes and settling your baby.
What is your cancellation policy?
All my shoots have a session fee of $200 which secures your booking with me for your chosen date. I allow for one instance of rescheduling as long as it's not on a weekend as they are very popular

Creating visual legacies of families is why I do this
Hey, I'm Rohan :)
After working as a wedding photographer for 15 years, I founded Rohan Traman Families in 2021 as a small boutique studio built around one simple idea - connection.
As a father to 2 kids, I know how quickly time moves and how the simplest moments often become the most treasured. Whether it’s the laughter shared over dinner, the quiet comfort of a cuddle, or the joy of watching your little one discover the world, these are the memories that matter.
In my sunlit, cosy studio, I aim to create a space where families can slow down, be themselves, and see just how powerful their connection truly is.
My approach is warm, natural, and personal - because photography, to me, isn’t just about beautiful images. It’s about preserving the feeling of being together, long after the moment has passed. Because when all is said and done, what we leave behind are the memories we’ve made and the love we’ve shared.
